The Well at Our Promised Land Schoolhouse
Rooted in faith. Grounded in tradition. Preparing the next generation.
At Be’era — The Well, we believe education is about far more than textbooks, classrooms, and examinations.
It is about shaping hearts, nurturing minds, building character, and preparing children for a life of faith, responsibility, service, and purpose.
Our vision for The Well at Our Promised Land Schoolhouse is to bring back the beauty and simplicity of the traditional one-room schoolhouse, where children of different ages learn alongside one another, older students help younger students, and every child is known, valued, and encouraged to grow.
We believe a strong academic foundation is essential. Reading, arithmetic, penmanship, science, history, and the written word are important parts of a child’s education.
But we also believe that learning to sew a garment, plant a seed, tend a garden, care for an animal, prepare a meal, or build something with one’s own hands holds just as much value.
These are not merely extracurricular activities. They are lessons in patience, responsibility, stewardship, independence, and the dignity of honest work.
Through our connection with Our Promised Land Farm, we envision a schoolhouse where learning extends beyond four walls and into the fields, gardens, barns, and workshops.
Children will have opportunities to learn traditional homemaking and homesteading skills, sewing, gardening, farming, woodworking, food preservation, and animal husbandry. We hope to instill in them a genuine love and respect for animals, the soil beneath their feet, and the beautiful responsibility God has given us to care for His creation.
We also desire to cultivate an appreciation for the history of our nation, the sacrifices made by those who came before us, and the freedoms we have been blessed to enjoy. We want children to understand that liberty carries both blessings and responsibilities, and that gratitude, good citizenship, integrity, and service to others are virtues worth preserving.
Above all, we envision a schoolhouse where Christ is at the center, the Word of God is honored, and biblical principles are woven naturally throughout the day.
We believe education should strengthen the family, not replace its influence. Our desire is to work alongside parents as they raise children who are knowledgeable, capable, compassionate, hardworking, and grounded in their faith.
The Well at Our Promised Land Schoolhouse is still in the planning and development stages. We are prayerfully working toward a place where the traditions of yesterday can help prepare the children of today for the responsibilities of tomorrow.
Strong minds. Capable hands. Faithful hearts.
